Call for Artists

Show us your stuff! 

The First Stage Gallery is seeking traditional and non-traditional creative expressions for exhibit in May, 2018, reflecting on  
“Open Water, the springtime melting of ice on rivers and lakes.”

Proposed work for exhibition should be submitted as follows:
· Submit electronically to
· Include your contact information and a statement about why and how you create your work
· Attach your bio
· Attach quality digital image(s) of the piece(s) proposed for this exhibit, or representative work if piece is not currently completed. Please label images in this format: Artist name-Title-Year completed.jpg
· Do not submit links to on-line photo galleries or send by text.
· Also say if the work has been exhibited at another venue (where and when,) and whether the work will be for sale with the size, price and media.
Proposals are due by noon on April 15, 2018.
Proposals will be reviewed and notifications will be sent to those accepted by April 20, 2018.

This is not a juried exhibit.
Work will be selected based on space and adherence to the Open Water theme. All are welcome!

About The First Stage Gallery:

Since 2006, the First Stage Gallery has been exhibiting work by artists from the area and across the northern US.  The First Stage Gallery is the first step in renovation of the 100+ year old Lyric Building, downtown Virginia, MN.  

The gallery is committed to presenting work by regional and local emerging and established artists to facilitate grown of their career and foster our creative community.
